Pyroblast

Arcane/Destruction, Nature/Furna

Costs: ◆, ⨂ DP

Targets: self

Durations: 1 min, focus

Components: sign, verbal

When you cast: As This creature casts this spell they start focusing fiery energies on themselves. As they cast this spell they gain ⨂ pyro stacks and the creatures within ⨂ m of them must make Resilience(VIT) check or take ⨂d4 fire damage.

While caster is focusing on the spell, it gains the following actions:

◆: Charge Up. Maintains focus. This creature gains 1 pyro stacks, then all creatures within ⨂ m of them must make Resilience(VIT) check or take 1d4 damage for each pyro stack they have. This ability cannot be used if they already have 4⨂ stacks.

◆: Release. This creature selects a point within 30 m, that they have line of attack to. They shoot all gathered energy towards that point, causing an explosion. The radius of explosion equals the number of pyro stacks. All creatures in that radius must make Acrobatics(AGI) check or take 1d12 fire damage for each pyro stack released, plus the caster's spellcasting ability force damage. On success, creatures take half as much damage. Creatures in ⨂ m of the point selected must also make Toughness(VIT) check equal to the damage taken or be thrown ⨂ m away from the centre of explosion and knocked prone. This spell then ends.

Focus loss penalty: If focus is lost, the caster can try and make a Willpower(spellcasting ability) check equal to 10 + the number of pyro stacks. On success they can immediately use the release ability as a reaction. If they don't or if they fail, all the energy is released as if release was used centering themselves.
